Our BDC Lab members have been making incredible strides in research and professional development, and we are excited to celebrate some of their recent accomplishments! <\/p>\n\n\n\n\n\n\n\n

Mia Mangney and Tatiana Ramos-Gallardo<\/strong> presented their research, \u201cBilingual children expressing thought, emotion, and perception in two languages,\u201d<\/em> at the 2025 SDSU Student Symposium (S3<\/sup>). <\/p>\n\n\n\n

A recent article in Language, Speech, & Hearing Services in Schools<\/em>, titled \u201cFill in the blank: English morphosyntax production in matched bilingual groups,\u201d<\/em> was co-authored by our very own Jide Famoyegun (SDSU)<\/strong> and Dr. Giang T. Pham (SDSU), <\/strong>along with Dr. Lisa M. Bedore (Temple), <\/strong>and Dr. Elizabeth D. Pe\u00f1a (UCI)<\/strong>. The article is currently in press.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Another publication in the American Journal of Speech-Language Pathology,<\/em> \u201cOptimizing a Vietnamese Sentence Repetition Task using Item Response Theory,\u201d<\/em> was co-authored by Dr. Giang T. Pham (SDSU), Alexander Choi-Tucci (UCI), Ngoc Do (SDSU), <\/strong>and Dr. Kerry Ebert (UMN)<\/strong>. The article can be found here<\/a>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

Fatima Roman<\/strong> was selected as a Foundational First Scholar through the California Speech Language Hearing Association (CSHA) Foundation\u2019s Funding the Future program! <\/p>\n\n\n\n

We\u2019re incredibly proud of these achievements and excited for what\u2019s next in the BDC lab! \ud83c\udf1f<\/p>\n\n\n\n

The Bilingual Development in Context Lab<\/a> is dedicated to investigating bilingual children who speak Vietnamese or Spanish at home.<\/em><\/p>\n\n\n\n
